How trusting these Myths are making it harder to lose weight!
🎯 There are many unhealthy misconceptions about weight loss. There are no magical foods, pills or ways to combine foods that melt away excess body fat (Yes i know there are shots “Ozempic” that you think magically makes you lose weight, but you still have to do the work as well as maintain your results for the long term, not just the short term). To reduce your weight, make small, achievable changes to your lifestyle.
If you’re overweight, the best way to lose and maintain your weight in the long term is to change the way you eat and see food and increase your level of physical activity. So in simple terms, caloric deficit and more activity. And for more optimal weight loss, strength training!!
3 Myths to not trust again!
➡️ MYTH 👉 Very Low Carb diets are great for long term weight loss.. Well unless you want to be unhappy and miserable then cutting down too many carbs at once will only do the opposite to your goals. While they tend to be effective for a while, these diets are challenging to follow forever. Its amazing to me that this is still the to go in the diet culture.
❇️ Complex carbohydrates provide energy to fuel our bodies throughout the day. Make healthy swaps in your diet by eating whole-grain bread, pasta and brown rice rather than products made with refined white flour. Other healthy carbs include potatoes, peas, squash and all kinds of fruit.
➡️ MYTH 👉 Seeing the scale number is the only way to see progress… Better physical health isn’t always visible—it can mean lower blood pressure, better blood sugar control, more energy for daily tasks, and an overall improved quality of life. Thinking beyond the number on the scale to the activities and behaviors you’d like to build into your routine can help with your mental and physical health. What does a healthy, active, and fulfilling life look like to you?

➡️ MYTH 👉 You can eat as much ”health” food as you want.. Well only if you have those types of genetics that can guarantee that (Yes i feel your pain..) you will need to control your cravings and intake. If you’re eating too much food, it doesn’t matter how healthy it is. Eating a healthy, balanced diet is important, but it’s possible to overeat even the healthiest foods, like vegetables. Almost all Vegetables are low in calories and when mixed in your balanced plan (50-40% off your balanced plate) it will help you stay on a deficit even without tracking all your foods.
“When we are trying to lose weight, reducing calories is key,”. “Healthy foods, like all foods, contain calories, and eating too much of any nutrient will only result in storage of that excess energy as fat.”
❇️ Finding a weight loss plan that works for you will take trial and error. Creating small sustainable habits and building self accountability are the keys to know the truth about what is happening in your body when you lose weight.
“When your program or your habits are inconsistent and all over the place so will your results be”
